A Family Run Business.

Cosgrove and Son is a fine food store located in the heart of Sligo on Market Square. The family-run business has been committed to providing an extensive range of high-quality international and local food products since 1898. It is one of the last remaining traditional family-run grocers, having evolved into one of Ireland’s most unique fine food stores.

Exquisite international products.

Upon entering Cosgrove and Son, every food enthusiast will find exciting and intriguing products among the tightly packed shelves. The exterior and interior of the shop have remained original since opening its doors in the late 19th century. The traditional storefront, the wooden faced countertops and slightly leaning shelves all give great character to this one of a kind food store. We pride ourselves on stocking some of the most exquisite international products, to name a few; authentic Italian pasta, Austrian coffee, French cheeses, Greek olive oil, Japanese tea, West-African honey, Spanish cured meats, German rye bread and the best of Irish everything, including organic oats, farmhouse cheeses and seaweed from our western shoreline.

Georgina Campbell Says….

You could be forgiven for thinking you have stepped back in time and – and into the local community – when visiting 3rd generation grocer Michael Cosgrove’s delightful traditional shop, which has been trading since 1898 and not only sells all manner of good things but also offers a level of personal service that is becoming increasingly rare, even in Ireland. It’s a place where regular customers are known by name, and you’ll find more real choice than in any of the big multiples – Georgina Campbell.
